Elon Musk had one last message for Donald Trump after he quit as Head of DOGE (the Department of Government Efficiency).
The billionaire announced that he would be stepping down from politics after what he claims was ‘disappointment’ in the Trump administration.
He had a unique role as a ‘special government employee’ which allowed him to work 130 days in the office. This came to an end on May 28.
Despite his scheduled exit, Musk decided to leave three days earlier, only days after he ripped into Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill’.
Musk had an interview with CBS which aired on May 27, where he said: “I was disappointed to see the massive spending bill frankly, which increases the budget deficit not just decrease it, and undermines the work that the Doge team is doing.
“I think a bill can be big or it can be beautiful… but I don’t know if it could be both, my personal opinion.”
The BBC then reported that after his criticisms, the White House were trying to ‘offboard’ the Tesla CEO.
Musk wrote on X: “As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending.
“The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.”
Trump responded on Truth Social with his own message, which read: “He’s on a mission from God & nothing can stop what is coming.”
The “big beautiful bill” includes Trump’s plan to create a ‘Golden Dome’ that would cover the US in order to protect it from missile attacks.
