The Only Harry Potter Star To Stand By JK Rowling During Trans Controversy Has Been Revealed

The only original cast member to stand by JK Rowling during her views on transgender rights has been revealed.

The 59-year-old has been under scrutiny in the past for her views on the trans community, especially after the Supreme Court’s ruling last month that the definition of a woman and sex in the Equality Act only refer to “a biological woman and biological sex”.

Rowling took to social media to share her own thoughts on the ruling.

She wrote “It took three extraordinary, tenacious Scottish women with an army behind them to get this case heard by the Supreme Court and, in winning, they’ve protected the rights of women and girls across the UK. @ForWomenScot, I’m so proud to know you.”. The author has also previously donated £70k to the anti-trans group in support of their cause.

Pedro Pascal then spoke out. Activist, Tariq Ra’ouf, shared a video on Instagram calling out Rowling. Tariq shared his hope that ‘every single thing that’s Harry Potter-related fails,’ before branding Rowling’s celebration ‘awful and disgusting.’

He continued; ‘It has become our mission as the general public to make sure that every single thing that’s Harry Potter related fails…because that awful disgusting s**t, that has consequences.’ Watch below:

Not only did Pascal like Tariq’s video on Instagram, the actor commented ‘Awful disgusting S**T is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior.’

The actor’s sister Lux is transgender after coming out back in 2021 and Pascal has been protective and supportive of her over the years. Speaking to Esquire, he said:  ‘I wouldn’t want to speak on her behalf but she is and has always been one of the most powerful people and personalities I’ve ever known. My protective side is lethal, but I need her more than she needs me.’

Former Potter actor, Sean Biggerstaff who played Oliver Wood, has also hit out at the billionaire for her views on transgender rights.

Biggerstaff has accused the author of “smoking a bl*nt” with her explaining it was “demonstratively a cigar”. He added “Bigotry rots the wit.”

JK shared another post that showed a news article with the caption: “In case it wasn’t clear: don’t f**k with Scottish women,” he added: “The majority of Scottish women, who don’t agree with these d***heads, aren’t being bankrolled by an obsessed billionaire.”

The actor continue, writing on the above photo of her: “Lol, huffing on a cigar now? Is she Andrew Tate?”

Sean also shared his support for the transgender community in a post that read the “loudest voices” has been “using concern for sex-based rights as cover for entirely reactionary politics.”

Another read: “Today is just a torrent of people being willfully simple-minded. A performance of pragmatism to cloak their instinctive distaste for the Other.”

In other news, all seven of Rowling’s books will be turned into a HBO series with an all new cast. Filming will span 10 years and cost over $200 million each season.

Seeming to take aim at the three original actors who played our main characters, Rowling previously took to social media on 19 March.

On X, in response to @tradingMaxiSL who wrote ‘What actor/actress instantly ruins a movie for you?’ to which Rowling responded ‘Three guesses. Sorry, but that was irresistible’

Rowling has faced controversy in the past after sharing her views on transgender women. All three of the actors responded to her 2020 essay, where she called transgender identity ‘deeply misogynistic and regressive’ with supportive messages in favour of trans rights.

She later went on to say that she could not forgive the actors, even if they had apologized publicly.

A TV insider told MailOnline: ‘This is Ms Rowling’s opportunity to totally eradicate the memories of the old movies and the old cast – with new TV and movie franchises it brings in new leads, lust like with Superman and Batman’,

Now, the only Harry Potter actor to support Rowling has been revealed. The child actor, who starred in all eight movies, has even been rewarded for their loyalty by allegedly being gifted an important role in the upcoming HBO show.

Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy, shared an interest in visiting the HBO set and meeting the actor who would be playing his famous role.

Warner Bros is hoping to give Felton a behind the scenes role that may be part of a documentary about making the new series. The 37-year-old is expected to be available to the new Malfoy actor, for advice on the iconic role.

Felton, unlike his co-stars who played the famous three, refused to comment on Rowling’s opinions during her campaign for women’s rights.

An insider revealed: “Everyone knows that Tom has Jo’s blessing. While others turned their backs on her, he treated her with dignity even if he disagreed with her. And now it seems he will be the one original cast member who will be involved with the new production.

“The producers want to keep the television series separate from the original movies. Tom has expressed an interest in visiting the set and meeting with the actor playing Draco, and Warner is keen to make it happen. There has even been talk of getting him involved in creating behind-the-scenes content for HBO which could form part of a documentary about the making of the TV show.”

When he was pressed about his views on Rowling’s campaigning in 2022, he said: “No one has single-handedly done more for bringing joy to so many different generations and walks of life.

“I’m constantly reminded of her positive work in [the literary] field and as a person. I’ve only had a handful of meetings with her but she has always been lovely. So I’m very grateful for that.”
