A White House official has broken silence on Todd and Julie Chrisley’s pardons.
Donald Trump announced on May 27 that he would pardon the couple from their prison sentences in their tax fraud case and now a White House official has revealed that the pardon will be signed before the end of play on 28 May.
They also added that Trump knows the couple’s daughter, Savannah Chrisley but hasn’t met either Todd or Julie.
Criminal justice reform advocate, Alice Marie Johnson, was the person who presented their case to Trump – as shared by the White House official.
Speaking to Savannah on May 27 via phone, Trump said: “I don’t know them, but give them my regards,”,”They were given a pretty harsh treatment based on what I’m hearing.”
He added, “I hear they’re terrific people. This should not have happened.”
Todd, 56 and Julie, 52, were found guilty of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and conspiracy to defraud the US, back in June 2022.
They were each sent to prison in January 2023.
Todd had his sentence reduced to 10 years in September of the same year, while his wife’s sentence was overturned in an appeals court in June 2024 but later upheld.
Savannah spoke earlier this year about getting both her parents pardoned: “I know that I am going through the proper channels to do so,” she shared with People in February, “and I’m going to bring as much awareness to it as possible because these things should not happen.”
